Today, at their current location in Belmont Cragin, they have identified adult education and affordable child care as two crucial pillars of community development. As a result, Onward House has become a leading provider of high-quality Early Childhood Education, catering to the needs of the community's youngest members. Additionally, they offer comprehensive Adult Education programs to ensure that individuals of all ages have access to valuable learning opportunities.
The programming focus of Onward House is truly remarkable. They offer education for children, youth, and adults, recognizing that learning is a lifelong journey. Furthermore, they prioritize workforce development by offering computer classes tailored specifically for adult learners and business owners, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape. Onward House goes above and beyond by connecting families with additional services, including their food pantry, which provides a variety of nutritious food to the community every Thursday. They also collaborate with CommunityHealth to operate a health clinic, providing telehealth and in-person primary care, prescription medicine, and lab work for uninsured adults. Their Illinois Welcoming Center for Immigrants and Refugees offers a range of services, including case management, crisis management, referrals to social services, and access to all their in-house programs and services.
